Our founder, Tracy Gorham, didn't start out in Silicon Valley or on Wall Street. She started as a student who, like so many others, faced systemic obstacles in her path to higher education.
At just 16, Tracy found herself navigating college alone, without guidance or resources. It was at Salt Lake Community College that she met an advisor, Cindy Clark, who took the time to help her complete essential paperwork and access the financial aid she needed to continue her education.
This experience wasn’t unique. It was part of a much larger story — the story of countless students who fall through the cracks because the systems meant to support them are fragmented, outdated, and disconnected.

At ConexED, our story begins where many student journeys begin — at a community college, facing real barriers and overcoming them through the power of human connection and support.
Years later, Tracy returned to higher education, but this time with a mission. She realized that what students need isn’t another piece of technology built in a boardroom, but solutions crafted by people who understand the student journey firsthand. That’s how ConexED was born — a platform built for education, by education.
We didn’t build ConexED from the outside looking in. We built it side by side with the people who live and breathe student success every day — advisors, faculty, administrators, and students.
Our platform was designed specifically for community colleges and access institutions who face unique challenges serving diverse, first-generation, and non-traditional students. We know that equitable access to education requires more than just good intentions — it requires intentional systems that remove barriers and foster connection.
